Transfer: Very good player – Mourinho speaks on signing Yamal for Real Madrid

Daily Post about 9 hours 1 mins read

Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has hailed Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal as “a very good player”, but insists he has no plans to sign him.

In an interview with El Chiringuito, Mourinho boasted that he already has the best players in his squad.

He was reacting to rumours that Madrid could make a shock move to buy Yamal from their biggest rivals.

“Will I sign Lamine Yamal? He’s a great player but no. We already have a top squad,” Mourinho said.

Yamal was part of the Barcelona squad that won the LaLiga title ahead of Real Madrid last season.

The teenager scored 16 times in 26 appearances in all competitions.

Having also won the 2026 World Cup with Spain, Yamal is one of the leading candidates to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or prize.
