According to Sky Sports, Gabriel and his representatives are currently in Spain.
It is understood that Barca’s rivals, Real Madrid, are also keen on the 15-year-old’s signature.
Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye on the situation.
Earlier this week, Gabriel’s agents informed United that he wants his registration to be cancelled.
United remain hopeful they can persuade the teenager to remain at the club as he is contracted until the end of the season.
But it now looks increasingly likely he will move away from Old Trafford.
