Kebbi: Gov Idris receives ADC chieftain, Bango Kabi into APC

Daily Post about 5 hours 2 mins read

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has received a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bello Altine Argungu, popularly known as Bango Kabi, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bango Kabi commenced a new political chapter with the APC on Sunday, August 16, 2026, amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Receiving him, Governor Idris described his move as a major development for the APC in Kebbi State and said the party remained open to people committed to the development and unity of the state.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving education, healthcare, security and the welfare of residents.

In a statement issued after his move, Bango Kabi said changing his political platform would not alter his commitment to the development and welfare of the people of Argungu/Augie Federal Constituency, Kebbi State and Nigeria.

He said his decision followed reflection, consultations and engagements with political stakeholders.

Bango Kabi said his political objectives remained unchanged despite the change of platform, describing the move as a new chapter rather than a change of purpose.

The development comes as political activities intensify in Kebbi State, with political actors and parties making strategic moves ahead of the 2027 elections.
