Nigeria’s Falconets booked a place in the quarter-finals of the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following a comfortable 3-0 victory over England at the Bielsko-Biala Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Tosin Rafiu gave Nigeria the lead in the seventh minute.
Rafiu make a superb run into the England box, dribbled past a defender before slotting the ball into the net.
England were awarded a penalty in 33rd minute after Rebecca Adegbemile fouled an opponent inside the box.
Christiana Uzoma however made a superb save to deny Rachel Maltby.
The Falconets doubled their lead two minutes after the break through Benfica striker Janet Akekoromowei.
Substitute Mary Mamudu added the third in the 73rd minute.
Nigeria will meet the winner of the Poland versus Colombia Round of 16 tie in the last-eight.
