The Upper Sharia Court at Post Office in Kano has ordered the remand of Khadija Muhammad, popularly known as ‘Yar Lele’, in a correctional facility over alleged defamation and harassment.

The police brought Khadija before the court, presided over by Justice Garba Malafa.

The defendant is accused of posting a video allegedly containing statements concerning the reputation of MD Hassan, a politician from Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

Khadija pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to her in court.

The prosecutor, Barrister Awaisu Sani Lawan, requested more time to present witnesses and other evidence in support of the case.

Following submissions from both sides, the court ordered that Khadija be remanded and adjourned the case until October 14, 2026, for further proceedings.
